Iecavas Boarding school has an ecogarden. There are growing garlics, rhubarb, some carrots, peppermint, chamomiles, dill and other greens.
Students take care for garden. School has apple trees, pears, plums and cherries. All vegetables, fruits and greens are used in school kitchen.

On June 9th the European School Munich started to build an Ecogarden



On the 9th June 2013, the Comenius garden group had its first meeting to plant an eco garden.

Charlotte from class S3fra wrote about the experience.

"When we arrived, the soil, on which we had to create a garden, was hard and full of rocks and grass. We began to loosen the soil, which was not an easy job! New potting soil was then added and evenly distributed.

We planted various vegetables, herbs and berries, including for instance, sage, thyme, cauliflower, fennel, raspberries, etc. We then watered the plants, and to reach them easily, we built a small footpath.

Afterwards, we cooked spaghetti and admired our garden".

The new eco garden can be found just behind the bicycle parking, truly matching the project's theme.
